Gather the four parts of a build

  • Choose unlocked Aberrant weapon forms and combat abilities to establish the loadout and fighting approach you want to use.
  • Defeat powerful Resonants to earn the supernatural Combat Abilities available for your setup.
  • Unlock Talents that amplify the synergy between your abilities and Aberrant melee attacks.
  • Discover untapped Artifacts in the world, then craft them into usable Artifacts in the Gap.
  • Further progression and New Game Plus add talent nodes and let you combine multiple different combat abilities earned from the same boss.

Shape and test a focused setup

  1. Enter the Gap outside combat; this is where you can shape your build, unlock upgrades, craft Artifacts, and test the resulting setup.
  2. Pick a combat goal, such as heavy close-range pressure or a tactical approach built around independently attacking Mold Turrets and their harmful status effects.
  3. Pair Primary and Secondary Aberrant Forms with suitable Combo Enders, adjusting speed, range, and combat role around that goal.
  4. Select Talents that strengthen the interaction between your chosen melee attacks and supernatural abilities.
  5. Add Artifacts whose passive modifiers support the situation, whether you need survivability, combat performance, exploration benefits, or resource-economy changes.
  6. Test the completed build in the Gap, then tailor its forms, abilities, Talents, and Artifacts to the intended combat role and situation.

Plan around limits and trade-offs

A first playthrough intentionally cannot unlock every available system or everything in Dylan's arsenal, so prioritize the components that serve your chosen combat role.

New Game Plus provides more room to experiment with combinations that were not possible during the first playthrough.

Artifacts are not purely additive: some have conditions or trade-offs, so an option that improves one situation may call for a different choice elsewhere.

Heavy close-range pressure and tactical Mold Turret play are distinct supported approaches for different playstyles.
